Tawra, they have battery operated fans. Some 10 inch square. Im in FL and these type of fans, large to small hand held ones, were the best investment. Couldnt sleep without them.

Great list...and I agree with some of the things you suggest like forget the survival food till last. Some things to also add to it
1. Fire extinguishers, fire suppression. When SHTF, emergency services may not be able to respond.
2. Nylon cordage in all weights, bungee cords and ratchet straps. It's makes things, like tarps, easy to tie down.
3.Add things like down, wool and fur items to your clothing and bedding if you live in a cold climate. Learn how to dress in layers to stay warm.
4. Cotton rags work extremely well as a toilet paper substitute. Wash and reuse.
5. Chocolate! Everyone needs a sweet comforting treat. It keeps well in the freezer.
6.LARD. Biscuits, pies, frying. Shelf stable, keeps forever.
7. Vodka, salt, honey. Great Medicinal values.
8.Hand crank emergency radio. No need for batteries or recharging.
9. Electrolytes....we stock powdered Gatorade. Learn to make Switchel, which is a homemade electrolyte.

Got the wood stove wood for 3 years been doing this for 15 years. Have 6 large trash cans in basement filled with water plus two 55 gallon barrels.. Before all this I PRAY for JESUS to show us mercy. I have a small solar generator to run my Cpap machine and one for my mother who has one also. I have a larger one to run my fridge or freezer if needed. We live way out in the country. I can also use the solar generator to keep the water coming from my well. The panels can go on top of our wellhouse and keep it going indefinitely. I have purchased them on sale and they have worked great. Great to have when my mother needs her oxygen machine to work. We also have a gas powered one but you have to remember they are loud. We have two wood stoves to cook on if we need it.
