Basic Gyudon beef rice bowl recipe with Chef Saito

牛丼 GYUDON  BEEF DONBURI

The ingredients for Gyudon can be purchesed here.

For 2portion 2食分
SLICED BEEF (牛肉スライス)300g 
SHORT GRAIN RICE (お米) 200g  
OINION (玉ねぎ) M SIZE1P
SOY SAUC(醤油) 50ml
COOKING SAKE (料理酒) 50ml 
SEET SAKE(みりん) 80ml 
SHIRODASHI(白だし)30ml    
GINGER (生姜) 1 Sliced
WATER (水)  500ml
HONEY (はちみつ) 30-60g
UN SALTED BUTTER (無塩バター) 15g
SALT (塩)1pinch (ajust)
BLACK PEPPER (黒胡椒)1pinch
EGG YOLK (卵の黄身) 1P

 COOKING STEPS
Cutting onion , slicing ginger
STEP1
 Saute onion with butter also add salt & b pepper
Until onion change brown color and soft with middle fire
Ingredients put inside pot.
Sake/Mirin/Ginger/Soy sauce /Shiro-dashi/Water
Cooking until boil
Then add honey to control sweetness as you like
Now Sliced meat put in pot
After Meat change color brown , this is time to stop fire and finish.

STEP2
Preparing Steam Rice
Wash short grain rice
Drain water properly and measure water
Cook rice with rice cooker or other pot.
It is better to start cooking rice and start to make beef .

1) Try to get sliced beef
2) If you do not want to eat beef, you can change chicken, pork, lamp,tofu,,,eatc
