Pain from Spinal Compression Fracture

Показать описание
Compression fractures can cause severe back pain. Theresa Pazionis, Orthopedic and Spine Surgeon at Miami Cancer Institute, says fractures above T5 can be a risk factor for having an underlying cause for your fracture, like osteoporosis or a tumor.

The pain from compression fracture is most commonly felt in the middle or lower spine, can also be felt on the sides or in the front of the spine. The pain is sharp and "knife-like", can be disabling and takes weeks or months to go away.

I had horrid back pain for several weeks then quite suddenly the pain got so bad I could not stand. It was due to compression fractures of the T8 T9 T10 and T12. I have no idea why T11 didn’t do the same. I had vertebroplasty 6 days ago. The pain is still absolutely horrid but it’s a deep aching pain now rather than the sharp stabbing pain. Valium has been better for pain relief than Percocet thankfully because Percocet makes me so itchy. Anyway I’m miserable and hoping to find good news on YouTube. That hasn’t happened. 😞

I have had knife like pain over 5 years (T4, T12_ L1) and nerve blocks and cortisone has been almost useless. Today, I went for a walk and came home to literally collapse on the floor.

L4, L5 and t7. I am 38 no prior injuries. It's been an on going issue for the past 6 yrs. I had pain so severe last week I went to the hospital. It hurt to take in a deep breath. It felt like I was being stabbed in the back. They checked my heart and lungs. Disregarded everything I told them about my back. Now today one week later the pain is back. . I can barely move or lift anything with my right arm. It's very difficult living with this.
