Can I connect Azure Deltalake without go thru Databrick?

Thanks for the demo. Can I ask 2 quick questions:
1. when we share the data in delta sharing, the data is copied to the recipient side, or the data is still only residing in databricks? If the latter is correct, since the data needs to move through network, will this cause any performance issues?
2. when the recipient uses the data in PBI, does the cluster on the provider side need to run?
