Best Wines on the Plant Paradox

While wine is certainly not a required component of the Plant Paradox diet, it’s also not (entirely) on the no list. But before you reach for that bottle of Moscato, watch this! You see, not all wines are created equal, so keep THIS in mind while shopping: wine is essentially a fermented form of concentrated fruit juice, which means that it contains sugar, and should be enjoyed in moderation. Also, be aware that the type wine you drink REALLY matters. In this video, Steven Gundry MD shares his tips on how to enjoy wine without sabotaging your diet. So if you need some help preparing for a wine & cheese night... or just some wine to go with your meals for this upcoming week, this video is for you!

Thanks Dr G for this advice on drinking wine. Just a comment on high altitude wines. I live in New Mexico where most of the terrain is at 3500 feet or above. This is at or significantly above the terrain of Mendoza. I live near Albuquerque where there are many successful wineries growing wine grapes at elevations above 5000 feet, and there are others around the state that are much higher. So I'm making a case for, if one wishes to drink wine on the plant paradox, these come from the US and exceed the polyphenol values touted in this YT. Thanks again for all the highly useful nutrition information!!

Do you buy organic wine? Would you also recommend high-altitude coffee beans? Organic of course! Speaking of coffee, decaf or regular?

Dr G, obviously it's never ok to down an entire bottle of wine in one sitting but if you skip it during the week is it fine to take two glasses in one evening? Thanks for all you do to keep us healthy!

And I would suggest, if possible pesticide and preservative free (organic).

all wines including organic, have tested positive for gylsophate active ingredient Round UP. I still buy organic lot less. Hopefully times are improving.

Bleh, some of the wine store ppl don’t even know what dessert wine is. 🙄 some wouldn’t know what sweet wine is 😬 they just work there. Might have to educate them 😂 😂
