Really cool item, I love the set theme behind it

Pro tip: never give something like this to a barbarian

Gave this to my Forge Cleric/totem barb he absolutely loves it. He is also playing a character that is already insane so the madness really isn't a problem for him. Dude tore through our last session dealing nearly 800 pts of damage over the course of 4 encounters and 5 hours of game play. He has also used it outside of combat to cook beans. As the weapon does have a flame present and he cas the chef feat...

Wouldn't it be coll to have a butcher cleric that praised masacre blood and butchery and make it so he could give himself or others butcheri blessings that were fundamentally rage or frenzy rage

An interesting side effect to dissuade your already frenzied murder hobos: same checks etc, but the player slowly turns into a gnoll instead(what that entails i leave unto your personal DMing discretion).

Reminds me of a spell I had made, yeenoghus dance, it was a hast spell for several people with no negative exhausting effect. However every turn their was a % chance of gaining corruption as you slowly transformed into a gnoll, that would be friendly to thr spell castee.

Chance to turn into a Gnoll usually works well.

I think instead of directly madness, make them into a Gnoll, kinda like how you would turn into a mindflayer. As they kill and kill, go basically: [player's name] says with a rather sudden snarl. "YES! YES! DEADMAN TO THE BUTCHER!" Make them a gnoll mentally, best way to conflict a murderhobo too.

Its a crazy can opener that drives users mad not knowing how to properly use it.

I plan to have Yeenoghu as one of the main bbegs for my current campaign, totally going to use this to see how my players react from having power from their enemies

I think it would make more sense to say it was created by someone else and given to the Gnolls because in all lore Gnolls don't usually create things.

love gnolls, could use more simple gnoll loot. usually I give them lots of low level gnoll mages to kill, and they usually have the good stuff

I like how you pronounce Butchery as Bootcherry

I’m currently in the middle of home brewing a few demonic weapon ideas for my players that are very similar to this type of thing. They’ll have to get at least one as a McGuffin for the showdown with the BBEG, but any use or attunement to these items is going to have some considerable drawbacks to balance their benefits. (I.e. you can potentially do massive damage… but you have disadvantage on all your own saving throws. Or another blade may drink the blood of your enemies, and can even heal you with it… but if you’re not “feeding” it often enough, it will attack random innocents in the night by itself.)

It's a worthy reward for facing down a gnoll pack lord... A cr2 monster??

I want to have one but I want to have it as a sword and if a their steals it they slowly turn into a null that will serve the welder who earned the blade ... Why the fuck do I feel like the party will exploit that by selling it or letting a their steal it easily..fuck

I'll admit, I read it as blade of blasphemous bitchery. I need to check for dyslexia.
