Ever since the reboot of the God of War series, Santa Monica has taken a liking to scattering secrets and easter eggs in their games. And God of War Ragnarok is no exception, I thought I had found everything in my 2 breakdown videos. But as I feared, I had missed a really important detail. A mysterious mural depicting what seems to be flying fish. In this video, both @godofwargeek and I will be exploring some of the best theories at the moment.

I took a closer look at the pillars and, being Egyptian myself, I noticed that the pillars are exactly the same as ancient Egyptian pillars. Other than the blue markings. Although they are located where a lot of carvings such as hieroglyphics and paint are in actual ancient pillars. So I think that they could be in Egypt.

I think that environment looks a lot like Jotunheim with the rocks etc. Maybe its Kratos and Atreus going back in time with angrboda to more primitive murals made from other giants

Finally, the theory I've been waiting for, many thanks from 🇧🇬

Can just imagine Kratos, Atreus and Thor beating the crap out of one another, accidentally landing in the Egyptian Pantheons realm and Ra walks in the room and stands there like "okay what O-o"

Those are dark elves in the cavern area though right? Maybe this is where they were moved to after the war? I think it would be pretty symbolic; shunned from the light, they took refuge in a place with none - underground.

Just remember the places in the Odin's library: at least three pantheons affected by the Ragnarok.

Wow!! Two theories for the price of one!! I belive that desertic cave is actully Svarthalfheim and maybe have some "friendly" merch passific interaction with the dwarves. i belive the fish and other oriental easter eggs could be also make refenrece to the Book of Invancions from Celtic Mythology and the historical indoeuropean migration. Also wild you idea of ragnarok multiverse of reality to diferents phanteons i love it! I cant wait to see the next trailer and the game too!!

what I think Cory was referring to about the connection of Roman and Norse gods was the book the Germania, an ethnography about the germanic people written by General Tacitus in 98 CE who states that the germanic people worshipped mercury (Odin and Mercury/Hermes do overlap in characteristics and expertise)...he goes on to mention the worship of Mars, Hercules and ISis (Tyr, Thor and Frigg/ Freya respectfully). So Cory might be using the roman idea of syncretism as a way to connect these pantheons

It makes sense, imagine if the game ended like this :after the portals opened, they accidentally go through it and they stuck there, that would be a cool way to transfer them.

You know I was actually thinking the same thing about entering different pantheons through portals or enemies from different pantheons entering the Norse Realm much like the opening of the multiverse in Spiderman No Way Home

Well, Kratos was always been the bridge to other pantheon since his arrival in Norse myth and travelling from realm to realm is apparently a common theme to the gods of the Norse when we are introduced to Tyr. Some hints from other pantheon like Egypt, Japanese, Aztec are really not surprising ever since we saw the missing panel of Tyr in Odin's secret chamber. Its just how Sta.Monica will introduce it that is surprising. We still don't know what pantheon is next but definitely there is. But judging from the trailer, Angrboda race hints, Temple Pillars, Murals, I think its Egypt.

I really liked your last theory regarding the portals to other pantheon, that would be super cool to see.
God of War geek was very well spoken and I really enjoyed his style of presenting the theory, definitely subbing to him! So cool seeing you guys collab.

A Voice actor confirmed via Twitter he will be voicing these elfs with swords called 'The Mystic Ones'

I definitely think the “fish” on the mural are just light elves, they are flying through the air like they are shown in the game, the fins are the sleeves the elves wear

I would love to see Kratos in Mayan or Aztec mythology. So many gods, sacrifices and ETC...

Feels like the God Of War series is entering "THE MULTIVERSE".

Gow ragnarok is much bigger than gow 4. We already saw something similar to kuba's idea but on a smaller scale, when we flew through the bifrost on a chase to get atreus back and we ended up in helheim. Its not too far fetched that we might fly across the world in some way
