We also internalise people's insults.
We are humans, as long as we have balance and mostly positivity about ourselves we are ok ❤
It helps to coach myself: don't talk like that to yourself like that!

The mind does look for the negative as a protective mechanism especially if you grew up in a negative environment. But the real problem is the negative subconscious beliefs formed from ages 0-7. Any negative thoughts come from negative beliefs. Be aware of and track those thoughts to uncover the belief driving them and replace them with the truth. Tools that help are meditation, hypnotherapy, EMDR and breathwork, to name a few.
