My man forgot to shave the second half.

I recently switched to Pop!_OS and can't wait what they will offer

looks like we are waiting on the new DE as the rest looks about the same. I am interested to see what they come up with. I liked POP but it did not like my hardware

Upgraded to 22.04 yesterday. everything is running smooth and fast. This is the only distro I am using for 2 years!. I've never used other distros for such a long time. This distro is developer friendly. <3 Pop OS <3

I can say I liked at the start Pop!_OS but I have to say I with the current gnome updates I actually think even Ubuntu is a better fit for me!

We need Wayland to be more generalized. Also Pipewire

Wow, that was quick to them to go to 22.04 so fast after Ubuntu released their 22.04, usually it takes a few months. They must have been ready.

Nice to see the pipewire option in there. I'm using pipewire jack support for my libvirt user session VM that is set up for Windows 11 and that seems to work the best for my use case.

I edit the XML configuration to include :

<qemu:commandline>
<qemu:env name="PIPEWIRE_RUNTIME_DIR" value="/run/user/1000"/>
<qemu:env name="PIPEWIRE_LATENCY" value="512/48000 qemu-system-x86_64"/>
</qemu:commandline>

No running as root, no adding user specific configurations in a system wide configuration file, no editing security files to add permissions.

This is on Debian Unstable, so it is working with the current pipewire/wireplumber, but when I got it to work it was within a month of the last stable release so at that time not significantly different from Debian 11 using the pre-wireplumber pipewire session manager.

Outside of that I am just doing basic audio stuff, and using pipewire just works for the things I do.

One aspect about the POP_OS default theme that really throws me off is how there is not color distinction between a highlighted window and a window in the background. Unless you activate that thick yellow border around them in cosmic to make things easier on the eyes, it really is an inferior experience compared to Ubuntu or Fedora (i.e. default gnome) to me

I believe there should be more attention for the upgrade process for Pop OS.

I’ve just succeeded in installing Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS on an old Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Intel Core i3 with a 64 GB SSD and only 4GB RAM. Did this about 3 nights ago and I’m happy to say, so far, everything works. Touchscreen, audio, WI-FI is stable, Bluetooth allowed me to connect my MX Master mouse. The Surface Keyboard works and lights up too. I’m very impressed.
I also installed an extra 64GB MicroSD into the Surface 3 Pro slot - that works too.
I’m pleasantly surprised! It’s given this old Tablet a new lease of life - this is the first time I’m using this particular Linux Distro - I’ve used Ubuntu and Linux Mint on other PCs / Laptops, but I’m very impressed with getting Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS to work on a relatively ancient Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with the aforementioned minimal specifications.

The only problem I had with installing from a USB Stick, was having to disable both Secure Boot and TPMS - it wouldn’t install with the latter enabled. I wiped the device clean and did a full install - with no recovery back to Window 8.1 - happy to see the back of that.

I am absolutely elated with this new to me Linux OS - very impressed indeed….!!!
I personally get a kick out of reviving old devices and giving them a new lease of life.

Anything stays with Ubuntu but gets rid of the snap stuff is just good, either Pop or Mint.

Just updated and it uninstalled all my gnome extensions and broke my zoom client.
On the good side, now I can finally switch between headphones and speakers without the need to toggle auto-mute thanks to PipeWire.

I installed Ubuntu 22.04 on my laptop a few days ago and it honestly feels more polished in general than POP_OS (and Wayland + gnome gesture extension is amazing). I never used plain Ubuntu before, but I don't know what advantages POP_OS still has (maybe Nvidia drivers idk)?

This one got my attention because it looks way better than Ubuntu and even have more nice low level optimisations, in one world good evolution.

It run very well on my PC with humble specs Intel Core i5 2400 3.1Ghz, 10GB DDR3 RAM, 240GB SSD and GT710 2GB .

The menu still covers 80% of my screen, I'd rather they just let people choose this menu or full screen.

Pop OS 22.04 is a beast, this might be my next main distro, really like the improved design and performance in this version and can't wait for Rust Cosmic DE, hope it will be more lightweight and faster than Gnome, maybe as lightweight as KDE Plasma (hope, not sure if Rust can be as fast as C++ is in Plasma)

Damn, I wish distributions shared their performance optimizations some more.
Pop!_OS, Zorin, etc. all have different performance tweaks, but they don't share it with each other all that much. That's too bad !

My main laptop is now using Pop OS. Before it was Ubuntu dual with Linux Mint cinnamon. I'm impress with Pop OS. 👍👍👍 Awesome!!!

I am using 21.10. Honestly when people say beautiful out of the box in regarding to a distro it usually the opposite. Pop_os needs tweaking to make it more presentable the same with the other distros. System_76 should have tweak the look of that horrible dock, applauncher and icons, they need to set a standard for those.
