Schools that pass along students who haven't mastered the basic skills should be sued/ shut down for the educational equivalent of malpractice.

I know a couple of people like this. Graduated high school and was reading at a Gr.3 or Gr. 4 level. Just pushed ahead, get out of the system.

When sports is more important AND when admin refuses to allow us to hold kids back (grade appropriate) because No CHiLd LeFt BEhINd which sounds great except the lack of funding and staff to work with those who need extra help. It’s a nightmare. I’m so happy for OP and this teacher. They’re one of the good ones<3

My son have dislexia... It's sooo hard for him to read write...we noticed when he was young cause he was writing like a mirror reflection backwards. b was d ect...

This is a genuine question, is this part of the no child left behind thing? I always hear people use that term when referring to students being pushed through grades despite needing support.

Well done teacherWhen my boys where in secondgrade their teacher asked mother to help with reading practise
there was a litlte girl who i should read with we knew each other she was at our home for birthdays of one of my sons so she trusted me and told me her thrapist told her not to practise with anybody else than her or her father who knew how to do it properly i said okay and asked the teacher why she put the child with me in that group
she told me it was 2007!! somethimg like dyslexia does not exist. I was dumpfounded. later after years of struggeling in Elemantaryschool she got a understanding teacher and could finish school withoutbeeing bullied by a teacher.
