During these times of isolation Metro is here to help our seniors stay healthy. However these classes are not just for seniors, anyone can participate. Metro Active classes are a great way to stay active. This weeks theme is Motown. Try to challenge yourself but always remember to move at your own pace for safety. If you have any questions give us a call at 516-745-8050.

What is Metro Active?
An aerobics class that is safe, heart healthy, and gentle on the joints. Increase strength, balance, and the range of motion needed for daily living.

What kind of exercises?
Hand-held weights, elastic tubing, and exercise balls are utilized for resistance training. Chairs are available for seated or standing support.

I’m 70 and have had trouble sticking with a program. I look forward to these sessions. I complete one every day. I especially liked this one!

I’m 71 years old, born in 1954. I use a walker & live in an assisted living home. We did this in exercise class this morning & oh what fun! After class I came up to my room & found it on UTube & intend to do it as often as I can until my body warms up to it, then 5-6 days a week. I love it! After class I was still deep breathing as I walked up to my room. Wonderful!

I'm 76 and hate going to the gym but Love Love Love Motown and these moves working from the chair are just what I need to keep active. Thank you! Singing and Exercising...Love it!!

I am a caregiver. My client is 90 years old. She once owned a record store back in the day. I’m 58 and we both love Silver Sneakers Senior chair exercises.
Especially Motown.

68-year-old disabled woman here. I used to love to dance and I used to really LOVE Motown! This was the most enjoyable chair workout I have yet found! My body's tingly and warm and limber, and I feel like I was at a high school dance. I sang to every song. Thank you so much!

Hello so I am a plus sized 40+ year old. 2 years ago I was in a car accident that shattered my left leg from the knee down. So now it’s mostly metal. I am always in pain and I have gained slot of weight from not being as mobile as I once was. I came across this video and for the first time since the accident I worked out. I had so much fun and it went very fast. I want to make your chair workouts a part of my routine. Thank you for giving me hope to loose a bit and strengthen my body.❤

I just found this so don’t know if it will be seen but I’ve been searching for something to exercise to I’m 72 and took dance all my life. When I finally found this with GOOD music I actually loved doing it. I even did part of it on my feet since I can!!!! Love it answer to a prayer❤

I had so much fun with this. I did a 10, 000-step workout and concluded with this program to slower the pace. I am a senior citizen who is just trying to keep fit. I am committed to trying all of the Silver Sneakers workouts. Love, love, love it.

I excercised for many years living at home for reasons you’d never believe even after I got married then I was in a rear end car crash that realigned my spine. I couldn’t keep up with Jane Fonda anymore. So today I have to thank GOD for you🙏. I’ve been miserable after Covid-19 as many are but following your instructions and you have my favorite music so I have NO excuse not anymore! Thank youThank you❤❤Love it!!
