Hold Y when being shown the message (I’m on Xbox). This takes you back to the game. Then load into a duo/trio/squad game. This works for me. Hope it works for you too.

still broken, but holding Y helps. it says something like “player 2” no idea why.
If it happens, just hold Y. restart the quene. remember boys, just hold Y.

And also everytime i load into Fortnite sometimes something pops up it says *PLAYER 2* How can i switch to player 1? Will this affect my gameplay in the long term?
