Türkiye is like the borderline of the world. They have a rich culture, close to Asia. But the Country is Eurasian for sure.

Central Asian + European + Caucasian + Mediterranean + Anatolian + Balkan + Middle eastern.

Turkey is a bridge between Asia and Europe. It connects the two, but it does not belong to either of them. Turkey is a very unique country in this regard. Some people consider themselves close to Europe, some consider themselves close to Asia, and this diversity is a beauty and mosaic of the country. These different thoughts, identities, religions bring Turkey together Despite these differences, Turkey, which is surrounded by war and chaos, lives safely in peace.

Peace at home, peace in the world!

Geographically, Europe is a part of Asia already. Speaking of history, Anatolia is more European than Germany, Sweden etc. Because the word "Europe" was used by Greek for the first time to describe places around Aegean sea under their cultural hegemony . If we define the word culturally, Europe is based on Greek-Latin civilizations and Many Greek cities were located in Anatolia. So this makes at least half of Anatolia Europe as well. For me, I am Anatolian. Probably, Greeks would call Germans, Scandinavians as barbarians.

The climate of Türkiye includes oceanic climate in Black Sea, meditarreanen climate in Mediterranean region and Aegean. The mixture of oceanic and Mediterranean in Marmara except Thrace, it involves continental climate and wetter than other continental climate regions. East, southeast and central Anatolia have continental climate as well. Türkiye has unique flora and fauna Its location between Europe and Asia is effective in this climate and other factors. So it’s a Eurasian country as geographically.

As a Turk, I see myself as Asian. In fact, the majority of our country is in Asia. In fact, being European seems like an insult to me.

The guy with the backpack says "We have the oldest cultural and historical sites. They were built before George Washington's efforts in the USA." The interpreter didn't translate it somehow.

Turkey belongs both Asia and Europe and that's why it is called EurAsia♡

I think Turkiye is more close to Europe, Balkans especially, here in balkans we share a lot in common with Turkiye, some of the language, food, way of life, even the houses if you go in old houses in Balkans and Turkiye they look quite similar, also it is a Secular country and the human development index is quite high similar to european countries like Romania and Hungary, over 0.800, and they look like Europeans, babushkas and all people in this video they look like average Balkaners, they are NATO too, culturally Turkiye is most similar with European countries like Greece, Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Romania.

To answer your question, both. Turkey is both a European and Asian country as Turkey has land in both continents.

Turkiye in Europe and Asia. But if you asking me, my life style my culture is tottaly belongs to Europe. But you asking another Turk she can say im Asian. Also the real Turks live in Central Asia and they look asian i mean little eyes light skin (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan..) But nobody dont want to say Turkey in Middle East. Because we are definitely not in middle east. no culturally, not language, not politics regimes, not looks.. So thats very complicated situation 😅 sorry for my english

I'm an Albanian descent native to ""European"" Istanbul (including pre-Ottoman era) I think I'm inarguably native to Europe.

I have a Kurdish friend from Diyarbakir who lives in Istanbul that's in inarguably Middle Eastern.

And we have a president who's an ethnic Georgian/Laz which I guess could be both European or Asian depending on what politics say.

We all share a nation that apparently confuse and anger a lot of people from Asia, Europe and ME. To some we're Mongols who should go back, to others we're Romans (Rums) pretending to be Turkic. There's also the religion side where both sides say "I thought this was a Muslim nation" but some with surprise while others with anger. We somehow exist folks and hating us will not make us go away.

Hello people there is a word for this situation- don't know why people do not use it: EURASIA. Turkey is the definition of Eurasia. Turkey has a double time more richer fauna than WHOLE Europe- why? Because not only it has almost all species you can encounter in Italy- it also has almost all species one can encounter in Sweden or Iran! Oh also there are tons of endemic ones only belongs to here. Now take this and think the absolutely the same for people. Even birds are like that- we have one of the most crowded bird immigration routes here- almost they all pass from Turkey- very similar to situation of people from all around world in İstanbul Airport.

Also, a person interested in this topic must research a bit of history. Take cities like İzmir and Aydın or Muğla (Bodrum-Marmaris). Turks living there are almost fully Balkan Turks-Cretan Turks-Turks expelled from islands etc. These cities would make you feel probably more in Europe than Tekirdağ or Edirne (cities geographically in Europe-Turkish Thrace). Then we must define what is ''European''? For some it is only related to christianity- for others it is related even to skin color, one other will tell Turkish is not a ''european'' language while there is no such categorization (because all languages spoken in Europe born in east) and while they got Hungarian-Finnish and Basque is somewhat considered ''European''. 20 years later I can come here and people would say ''Wtf of course Turkey is in Europe'' or totally the opposite. In fact when I had friends from Brazil or Mexico they were always surprised to learn that Turkey is not in EU and asked me constantly why? For a European grew up with so many historical burden and political tension given by media- the case is different. All this discussion is shaped by politics- nothing else.

Turkiye has always been the East of the West and the West of the East. So both Europian and Asian

Geographically, culturally and ethnically, Turkey belongs to the Balkans, the Caucasus, the Mediterranean, Anatolia and the Middle East. You cannot go to one place in Turkey and make inferences about Turkey, you have to visit every region because there are cultural, geographical and ethnic differences in each region.
