In this video we'll have a look on a couple of reasons why Turkey is probably the most important NATO member after The United States. Being the only NATO member located in Asia, it represents a gate of influence for the NATO alliance into the Middle East and Central Asia.
Another reasons is that Turkey controlls the Bosphorous Strait, the most important chokepoint in the Black Sea and it baisically controlls the acces of all the ships into the black sea, including the Russian ones.

Why is Turkey so important for NATO !?
First of all, Turkey is the only NATO member in Asia which allows the alliance to project it’s influence over the middle east and central asia.
Secondly, Turkey controls the bosphorus strait which is the only way out of the Black Sea. This allows NATO to easily neutralized Russia’s navy in case of a conflict and disrupt it’s maritime trade by closing the strait for the Russian ships.
Also, Turkey has the second largest army in the alliance and has been involved in many military concerns in the last years, which makes it a valuable member in case of a serious conflict.
