The latest episode of the Elliott Hulse Podcast features a discussion between Elliott and William Albrecht about the role of an apologist who defends their faith using facts. They delve into the significance of Church Fathers, who were disciples of the Apostles and authored writings beyond the New Testament. Notable figures include Ignatius of Antioch and Bishop Polycarp, taught and trained by the Apostle John. William explains that while many Church Fathers held clerical positions, some were simply apologists. These Fathers are categorized into different eras, including the Apostolic Fathers, Anti-Nyseine Fathers, Nicene Fathers, and Post-Nicene Fathers. Their writings offer insight into the beliefs, practices, dogma, and doctrine of the early Church, tracing the Catholic expression of faith back to Christ and his apostles. Hostile witnesses even recognized the distinctly Catholic nature of early Christian beliefs. This conversation emphasizes the Catholic Church's long-standing traditions and historical continuity.

In this episode:
- The importance of Early Church Fathers for the Catholic Church
- The Catholic roots of the Bible, Deuterocanonical Books, and Luther's role in their exclusion
- An exploration of the Patristic pillars of the Christian faith: Scripture, Tradition, and the Eucharist
- A comparison of Catholic and Protestant services in the Fourth Century
- Early Church beliefs, including the Edict of Milan, Purgatory, and Judgment Day

William Albrecht runs the website Patristic Pillars. He is an international speaker and debater who has participated in over seventy live and moderated debates. He has published a number of articles in various journals and magazines and is currently working on four book projects that are soon to be published.

I was truly humbled to be able to join my IRON BROTHER in the Faith on his amazing show. Elliott is a true warrior for the faith. He's a father and husband ready to go to war to defend his family from the snares of darkness. He's a brother whose back I will always have. I can't wait to collab with him again soon!

Should check out St Athanasius

Thirty-Ninth Festal Epistle of A.D. 367.

Where he warns about those who teach that the apocryphal writings were equal to scripture

Hello.
Protestant Christian here. I love that you are representing Christ on your channel Elliott. I get that you are Catholic and have different views in many areas than Protestants do. If you really want a fair discussion maybe you should also invite a protestant theologian on your podcast and speak to them about these same issues to get their perspective.
As a Protestant I will always hear Catholics out and listen as I did here even if I don’t agree on some issues. I hope Catholics would be willing to listen to Protestants on these issues as well wether they agree or not. Maybe not a debate but just invite someone like say Mike Winger for example on and just ask him the same questions about church history and the Eucharist and what not and get his take.
Just an idea. God bless.

Didn't St John H Neumann say: "to go deep into history is to become Catholic"?

Very interesting but what about verses such as Ephesians 2:1-9 esp. vs 5, 8&9.
Romans 3:19-27esp. 20-22, 24, 26-27?
Titus 3:5
