Science North, one of Sudbury’s top family destinations!

One of Sudbury’s top destinations, and one of the very best places for families, is Science North. This is Sudbury‘s science centre, and it features four floors of interactive galleries. There are areas for:

🚀 Space and aeronautics
🕺 Human bodies
🦫 Animals
🦋 The butterfly gallery

We also checked out the special animatronic dinosaur exhibition and a movie at the IMAX theatre. The film showing during our visit was Jane Goodall‘s Reasons for Hope, which includes a Sudbury connection as it explains how the city’s regreening efforts are helping the environment recover from the damage done by the mining industry in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It truly is a reason for hope!

Finally, if the weather cooperates during your visit, you can enjoy a walk around the boardwalk in Bell Park. This is located just behind Science North on the shores of Ramsey Lake, the second-largest lake in the world contained within a city’s limits. (Fun fact: the largest, Wanapitei Lake, is also in Sudbury. The city contains 330 lakes in total, more than any other city in Canada!)
