There are people that were working good jobs in the oil and gas energy industry back pre covid that are still not come back. Seems everyone forgot all those executive orders Biden signed right after he took office and how that resulted in many projects (beyond the Keystone pipeline) getting shut down along with the equipment and employees that operate them. Around March 2021, I switched over to doing GIS work for the government. Thus far nobody has called me back or offered up any of that type of work. Funny how quickly people forget shit. Those of us impacted by it sure as hell don't forget.
