Why is it that some people have V=mgl(1-cos(theta)) and others have V=-mglcos(theta). I know in the end it does not matter because the constant mgl in the first equation vanishes, but which of the two is correct?

Sir here you make a mistake I think ...when you put(6:36) the value of -mglsin theta . It will be + for - of lagrangian
