How to start fiber cement siding with a metal flashing

When getting into custom building, you really don't ever do the same thing twice. So you learn along the way to figure out different ways of doing things for unique situations. Like this video as an example, I don't always start my siding off on a transition 1x, but since I am using it as a starting point for my brick patio this will be (IMO) the cleanest look.

The standard type flashing for a horizontal transition for a wall would be a Z flashing. Which is a piece of flashing that looks similar to a Z. This prevents the water traveling down the side of the exterior siding to leak in-behind whatever it is setting on and the water will continue to flow over and out onto the siding below it. Nothing complicated, just a necessity. I used a standard gauge aluminum painted coil stock and used the brake to bend it. I prefer to hem my exposed edges for a cleaner look, and it also adds a little rigidness to the piece too.

As for the side where I didn't start off the siding on the 1x, I used the metal flashing only.... that was a unique situation as well. Instead of using a ripped piece of siding for my starter pitch, I simply used the dimple board to offset my siding for the proper pitch. I have a couple of videos posted leading up to WHY I had to use a dimple board on this project. Links below

Are there no prefab options to buy for this instead of making them?

I have fiber cement siding on my home. Flashing wasn't installed on the butt joins, some were caulked and some weren't. Is there a solution to flash these butt joints after it's installed? Thanks

Isn't aluminum no supposed to be used because it reacts with the cement? It's so hard to find a straight answer on this topic.
