Some of the comments are so rude. I live in a condo building with a lot of elderly people. Our elevator was turned off BEFORE the storm hit. Some people couldn't take the stairs. Some people are unable to evacuate....don't be a jerk

The one silver lining is Hurricane Milton only passed over Florida west to east, instead of going up the east coast into other states already hit by Hurricane Helene.

People should wait for a boat rescue instead of trying to walk through the floodwater because snakes and gators are swimming into the floodwater coming up from the swamps.

Florida was one of my family's vacation destinations. In the 1970's we would go to a motel called the Coral Motel. It was on the bay and waterskiing was part of the amenities they offered. We went there 9 times. The motel was a few blocks from the beach. The motel is condos now. It breaks my heart thinking this place is flooded along with all the little shops on the beach that I used to buy my shell souvenirs at.

People who refused to evacuate, ie, taking care of themselves, now want to be rescued, ie occupying resources and manpower, will end up in the same place they would have been had they evacuated. Thanks.
