I got the D-75A since it was released in February. By far, my favorite HT I've owned to date, coming from an Icom fan boy. Just waiting on their mobile to release next year.

I love these best of videos. I can't keep up with all the new stuff that comes out so often and this helps me stay up-to-date. Thank you Jason.

Wow, I have three of your top 14 handy talkies! The Wouxun UV9D Mate, the TYT TH-350 and the Wouxun UV9PX.

Nice list Jason and thanks for the UV9PX mention! I have a new UV9-Series model coming in a few months that fans of this series should really like also (very similar to the UV9PX but with some improvements), and it will be in the $149 range. I'll make sure you get one hot off the press. Be Safe! ;)

How about the Ailunce HD-1. First ham radio I bought and is a solid radio. Has Motorola quality feel to it, long battery life, great dual band and DMR, and color display. Plus was New Years special of $135 with extra battery, two antennas, charger, and programming cable.Seems like many reviews overlook this great radio!

You just answered my question!!! My daughter is diabetic - she hikes a LOT (most of the 14K mts) and is really active. I worry about her having something happen in the mountains and not being able to get help. This would work. I am going to call her and see what she thinks. Thank you so much! Also, I worry about losing touch with them - if things SHTF - just the ability to reach family.

Thank you!

Perfect timing for this video. My Quansheng radio just crapped out on me.

No love for the ICOM IC-T10? Despite owning several HTs like the ID-50 and Yaesu FT-70D the IC-T10 has quickly become my favorite. It feels very high quality, the sound is amazing both sending and receiving, it's really rugged and the HM-222HLWP has to be the greatest speakermic I've ever used.

Other than that: Great video with lots of details as to why which HT is where on your list. ☺️

In light of the latest Hurricane Helene and all of the people in FL, GA, NC, SC & TN I’ve seen a ton of ads from Rapid Radio on FB. I started researching and came across your YT Channels. I’m a single mom with 4 adult children in Ga, SC, Boston. Im in the film industry and am all over the US. I want to purchase something that I can communicate with all of them over in the event of a catastrophic disaster if the cell towers and internet are out. My question is…what do you use? I know absolutely nothing about these things and just need some guidance. You seem to know what you’re talking about! Thank you in advance!

I have the ID-52aPlus Anniversary edition in my hand. DX Engineering has some in stock. But they are going fast.

thanks for the video. Looking forward to the video you do on the btech uv-pro. I pickup one of these up and like it a lot. Programming it is very simple with the app. Learning APRS with it. Seems easier to use then the Yaesu FT5D to me.

Thanks for commenting on those blaze orange colored radios. That feature comes in handy when hunting and hiking. Altogether good review.

Just watched this on Discord and wow that is a bunch of new stuff. I really like the Icom anniversary edition. Thanks and good stuff there.

I agree it's has solid features, I just hate the analog audio on Kenwood, the noise floor on analog sounds way to high 🎉

Just got a fully unlocked uv17 pro gps. Amazing. 34 bucks Canadian delivered. My box full of icoms are boring and cant do any changes without a dealer.
BTW, no such thing as a license for gmrs in Canada.
Thanks for the video.

I think for the price the Yaesu ft65r is still the best option for analog dual band HT. It was my first ham radio 3 1/2 years ago and I still use it every day.
