The fact that you included example pics of such a diverse group of people made me so happy.
It really shows that beauty and style aren't connected to one's body, but to the way they celebrate and "accessorise" it ✨

This might overlap a bit with vintage, but I think when people wear things that look handmade (especially knitwear), that’s a whole level of taste to me. Maybe I’m biased because I make a lot of my clothes but who’s to say really

It's interesting to me how "effortless" is such a common compliment for an outfit, but so much of what makes people instantly stylish is an element that shows additional effort beyond the default.

I’m a senior anarchist (65+). Seeing the glorious variety of interesting and beautiful people you used as examples was a huge treat! I’ m tired of being treated like a nice little old lady- I identify as a dancer, artist, bog witch, active, curious human. Thanks for the inspiration, and support. I have gotten lazy, because I don’t know what to do with this aging, unwell, restless body. But now I am re-inspired. Very best to you and all those amazingly wonderful models. Now I gotta go dig out RA one scarves and hand made funky stuff I used to wear all the time. See you all on the sidewalk.

For me, stylish is the intentionality. It's wearing whatever you think looks good, regardless of what is considered appropriate/trendy and sticking to it. Because the default is boring. Like, for example, why is sparkly clothing considered party/evening wear? It's going to shine even prettier in the sun!

So many channels I watch have done this theme but I think you did the best job of explaining your choices and giving visual examples. Bonus points for the examples being people of all colors, shapes, sizes, genders and abilities. I think so often people think stylish = skinny and classically pretty when everyone is beautiful in their own way and capable of being stylish.

on the topic of color: my favorite thing to do is find a less prominent color in a patterned piece and wear that color with the patterned piece. makes it more fun than pairing a mostly blue floral with a blue/white/black top. finding that tiny hint of yellow looks more creative imo

I ADORE the diversity of your examples you show, it’s so refreshing

Thank you so so so so so much for including a huge range of sizes. Im always thinking of that whole "is it stylish or is she just skinny?" question and all of the people you included are straight up gorgeous.

I agree with all of these and would also add:

- mixed metals
- doing something different/notable with gender presentation
- a confident walk/pose that makes the outfit go twice as hard ✨️
- I am a sucker for an uncommon band tee

I'm so glad that showing socks is a cool thing now. I remember that in the (late?) 2010s everybody was wearing very tiny "hidden" socks, so their ankles would be naked. And they would wear socks like that during winter, so I'd ask myself "aren't they cold?". I would usually wear socks that were the same colour of my shoes or pants, so they weren't noticeable, but people would still look at my socks weirdly. Now I love showing my socks and hopefully I won't stop wearing them like that. But the trend will probably go back around and people will be wearing naked ankles in the future again.

I don’t know if it was intentional, but you match your background so much. Your hair and lips with the orange art and books. Your shirt with the other art and blue book. Your cardigan with the furniture to the left. All the colors are very complimentary. It’s really lovely. Bright and happy.

I’m 69 and so tired of seeing “quiet” luxury style. (Why be quiet at ANY age?) So your take on style is very refreshing! It’s interesting, artistic, fun and unique. Thank you! (Also, I admire how articulate you are.)

I’ve been mostly thrifting for over a decade but have been feeling uninspired lately. I’m 32 and have been overwhelmed by the fashion cycles and clothes that don’t work for me. I honestly love your videos! Your explanations and style philosophy resonates with me more than any other fashion/thrift lover on youtube. I love timeless stuff and lean a little more 90s but not in the over stylized modern take. You seriously have helped elevate my choices and hone in on my creativity. It’s fun again :) So, thank you!

Jewelry is INCREDIBLY stylish. It elevates an outfit from being basic to glamorous. ✨💎✨

kind of playing off of the hair styling, adornment, and the alt fashion aspects: dyed hair and especially tattoos!! I’m probably biased because I have a couple tattoos and want at least two more, but I think permanently adorning your body with art is the coolest thing in the world. I love playing with transparency and layering in my outfits mostly because I want to show off my tattoos!
