I think I still see a solder bridge on the bottom part of the HDMI port after taking your soldering iron over pins 2 and 3 from the left.

Try the repair again and it may work. All it takes is 1 pin to be lose or bridged...

The second I magnified ANYTHING I was working on and found hairs on my tools...UUUGHHHH I'd be cleaning the hell out of everything and forgetting about the job I was supposed to do.

My guess is the damage had been done to the hdmi decode chip. He replaces them a lot as when the hdmi port has problems it causes a great strain on this chip and now he can replace it to keep the picture that was on the screen for a few moments. It would pay him before he sold this Playstation to run it for a while starting and stopping it a few times.
