PlayStation should just add two ports in case anything happens

How do people mess up hdmi ports like this? I’ve got some stuff with hdmi inputs that are going on 15 years old and the ports still look and work like new.

Bro I’m so heartbroken. I don’t understand but I seem to have an hdmi port issue but I take such good care of my stuff and had for less than a year. No idea how to even do what you just did either.

I guess people pick up their consoles with the cables attached in the back? Drop them and then wonder why they can't get a signal 😅

To everyone asking how this happens.... they're called KIDS. KIDS are why this happens. Just happened to my brother, which led to this video. Because of KIDS.

Man I need to learn how to do this. And other various useful/practical circuitry... stuff. Really wish I would have gone into robotics or HVAC in tech school. :/

Steve's a real pro at fixing playstations, he just proved it by fixing a Ps5 hdmi port in less than 57 seconds :-)

Honestly this only looks easy because he has the right tools. Had to solder on a USB C connection and it would've never worked had I not had excellent flux

Quick and easy fix for Mr. TronicsFix.

I don't mind people who fix consoles and sell them. To me it's a fresh of breath air, and fun to watch them. The thing I hate is people talking about some console or game or accessory they find that's fully working and talk about how valuable it is, usually either as a flex or to flip. It used to be that people would find stuff at garage sales and keep stuff, or sell them on forums for anything they don't need. It wasn't a profit motive, it was just a community thing. You find some rare games at funko land in the loose game bins, you might sell them to people, but usually more for the fun and to fund their habit, not as a full time job. I really miss those days. Now the only content that's enjoyable is people rescuing and saving hardware and cartridges from being e-waste.

You should make a tutorial for soldering

Why not use drag soldering with a knife tip for soldering in the new connector? I think that is what they are made for.

At what temperature did you have your soldering station to add the solder? I’m trying to fix my brand new used ps5 that I bought with a broken hdmi port

What temperature would you recommend to heat up the solider pins for removal ?

The 2nd pin from the left looks a little cold. Did it work OK after this?
