Parrot Bebop 2 FPV Drone Flight Testing Review

Показать описание

In this episode, the Roswell Flight Test Crew flies the Bebop 2 from Parrot. Before flight, the first step is to calibrate the aircraft compass, following the prompts provided by the Free Flight Pro app, which is available for both Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. Once calibration is complete, the app provides First-Person View (FPV) video and telemetry from the aircraft. The Bebop incorporates an auto-takeoff and auto-land feature, which is the only method to launch and recover the aircraft. Flight performance can be adjusted using the app while the aircraft is flying. The crew also tests the Bebop's digital image stabilization, which provides gimbal-like performance while capturing aerial video. The episode concludes with a flight endurance test.

A great drone! I have crashed mine multiple times and even had the battery run out over water and got an awesome shot of it going underwater. Two days drying off and it was flying perfectly again. Great camera!

Yes it is a lot of fun to fly bebop. It also takes great 1080 videos. It is unfortunately underestimated because of competitors' aggressive advertisements. Overall great drone and wind fighter and the price makes it a steal 😀 thanks again for your work sir.

You can transfer the videos and photos to the smartphone or tablet that is connected to the drone directly through the app after flying. It is not mandatory to connect it to the computer.

Hit the land button when its 3 feet off the ground and it will make a softer landing. The propellers don't shut off immediately they give it to soft landing you can even do it for much higher.

This is one of the best videos on the subject. Short, but packed with very important info. Example, no one else told me how to download the footage with the usb cord.
Thanks

I agree with Shaun Dean, most definitely a solid review. Im on the fence whether or not I'm gonna buy one of these and this video pushed me to the YES side of things.

Have you ever loss one or more of your propellers on your bebop 2 drone? I HAVE SEVERAL TIME! Usually on a hard landing. It is frustrating and shouldn't happen but it does. Well here is the product that is a solution to preventing that from happening again. These Bebop 2 Propeller Plugs are easy to install and works great. Just using your figures, mainly your tum, press Bebop 2 Propeller Plugs into the larger propeller holes. They lock the propellers in place and will not let them unlock. I haven't loss a propeller since installing the Bebop 2 Propeller Plugs. You can find them on ebay, just search for “bebop 2 propeller plug”.

You can change at what percentage of battery you want the bebop 2, too warn you at. Hope that makes sense.

I have the BEBOP 2 Power. I'm very happy with it. It can be so docile a newborn can handle it easily or be fairly sporty.

The camera is very good for the casual flyer. The IS a hack to add a lot of memory to camera. It's cheap but a bit of a pain. This is also quite durable I actually prefer the original sky controller remote for it over the newer smaller remote.

He is right about the 10% warning problem. I was flying above 40m using the follow feature. I lost track of the battery percentage because of its great follow feature (at night) and suddenly i got the warning and before i can do anything it landed itself. Fortunately it landed over land

I thought that the bebop 2 has indeed a camera that can move up and down. A gimbal is just meant to absorb sudden movement and correct the position of the craft, isn't it?

Great commentary as usual.
1) range test?
2) flight modes?
3) best nearest competitor price wise?

a few things I would have liked to have seen.

keep up the good work.. entertaining as ever

I have a Bebop 2 Goggle question for you. I have my Bebop 2 video settings on maximum quality, however, when I use my cell phone inside the googles while in flight, I notice that the views look pixated, as in low resolution. Would this be due to the 1280 x 720 pixel display on the cell phone or is it the Googles itself, regardless if upgraded to another old cell phone with a better resolution screen. The videos themselves look fine on my computer monitor, but not to great when in flight through the goggles.
Thanks for your insight on this.

Great videos showing this Bebop 2 drone "out of the box" along with this "flight test" demonstrating features of FreeFlight Pro app and drone operation.  Used these to setup the new Bebop 2 FPV Power Pack drone.  Look forward to more videos. Thanks!

Would you recommend this drone or do you have any cheaper and better suggestions

hand launch and takeoff is now possible, landing is a little freaky at first, its a little jittery in your hand before motor shutdown
