The Italian Chocolate Capital: TURIN | A Day in Turin

Ciao from Piedmont! Eva and I are visiting Turin which, apparently, has a long tradition of chocolate making. We're on a sweet mission to learn more!

If you enjoy this video, please give it a thumbs-up and subscribe to the channel!

A huge thank-you to Guido Gobino and Alberto Landi for chatting with us! Mr. Gobino's chocolate is available online, let's make him the next Hershey!

Ciao from Turin! We're making our way south so let us know if there's anything special you would like to see from our travels!

The chocolate expert was a perfect gentleman; he did not say anything negative and listed all the positive points of Hershey's whilst making it clear, it was not his personal preference. True class!

Two and a half years ago my wife and I moved from Philadelphia to a small city in Piemonte about an hour from Torino. My wife is a chocolate lover but I am not. The first time we went to Torino with a friend who has lived here all of his life, I went to see the amazing Egyptian Museum I know this is a video about food, but I bet most of your viewers do not know that the largest museum of Egyptian antiquities other than the one in Cairo is in Torino. It is astounding as is the chocolate in any form and coffee.

Guido Gobino is so humble, I can only imagine how his chocolate must be infinitely better than Hershey's.
I had a kinder yesterday, such a good flavour. Hazelnuts and chocolate were meant to be, truly.
It would be nice to have a lesson on Venice from you guys on the channel, hope you had an awesome trip this time around!

The gentleman's review of Hersey's was itself, tempered. What a sport he is and with the advise of what to look for in the aftertaste, beneficial. Hopefully, you will be able to loose the heavy outer garments as you head south. Love you guys!

Happy that you're featuring Torino. I went there on a day trip and the dizzying variety of chocolate shops was outstanding. Not food related but the Egyptian Museum was outstanding, whose collection is second in importance to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

I'm from Turin and I really like this series. Years ago I had the privilege to be part of a chocolate tasting with pairing with liquors at Gobino and it was insane, like a dozen of different chocolates each paired with a different shot of top level liquors

These looked so good that I just ordered 2 little bags of Gianduja from a chocolate shop here in the U.S., made by Domori and Guido Gobino! Thanks, E&H, and Italy!!!

I taught English near Brescia and I will never forget the first time I had real Italian hot chocolate. I could never go back to the American kind again!

One of the many things I have learned from watching Pasta Grammar is, if you stick close to Eva and Harper you will have an extraordinary experience! Grazie Grazie Grazie!

Did you know that Gianduja was a cheap kind of chocolate at the beginning, when cocoa was too expensive but hazelnuts were cheaper, because they were produced in that part of Italy? Nowadays it is the opposite, hazelnuts are more expensive than cocoa and gianguja too. Also, we have learn to appreciate that combination, and the higher the popularity, the bigger the price is.

LOVED the video. To Hershey’s défense, it was invented to sustain the troop in the war, so it had to be sweet. Eva has to see the Italian job when you return. Best movie. Looking forward to the next video where Harper gets arrested for eating a Hershey bar in the streets of Turino!

I just could die for Venchi´s Gianduiotti, especially the dark version (extra fondant) is heaven!

È da nemmeno due settimane che mi sono trasferito da Torino in Val d'Aosta e vedere i giandujotti e il bicerin mi ha già fatto venire la nostalgia della mia bella Torino. 💛💙

Mr. Gobino is gracious and professional for a skilled artisan who makes superior chocolate.

I miss Torino, the first italian city I visited and revisited a couple of times. And oh, the gianduja is 😍

I love Torino. A friend of mine, from Torino, picked up a fresh kilo of Gianduiotti on the way to the airport. Ten hours later I had them in my hands. Italian chocolate is the best. I’ve recently discovered the chocolates of Central Asia and they’re really good too.
