We decided to make a quick stop in the city of Turin (or Torino, in Italian) on our way from Switzerland to Florence! We only had a little bit of time in the city, so we're taking you along with us to see as much possible!

We're Brandi & Alan, full-time travelers and creators since 2018. We post fun vlogs and informative guides to both document our travels and help you on your own journey.

*Planning your own trip to Turin? Add these to your itinerary!*
1. Via Guiseppe Girabaldi - a big & modern shopping district
2. Piazza Castello - a historic city square with museums, cafes, and museums!
3. Palazzo Madama (Madama Palace) - a historic building that now houses an art museum
4. Musei Reali di Torino - another art museum, situated in a grand palace
5. Duomo di Torino (Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist) - a historic church
6. Porta Palantina (Palatine Gate) - a Roman era city gate
7. Mole Antonelliana - a landmark building in Turin. It was designed at a synagogue, but was purchased by the city and is now home to their cinema museum.
8. The Po River - the longest river in Italy! Also a beautiful part of town. :)
9. Monte dei Cappucini - A hill offering with a church one of the best viewpoints of the Torino skyline!
10. Turin's famous Hot Chocolate (cioccolata calda) - you have to try this in here, according to everyone!
11. Downtown Turin at night - so many shops shops, Christmas lights, and crowds! :)
12. Gran Balon Antiques Market - a HUGE market, spanning several blocks, that happens the second Sunday of every month!
13. Mercato Centrale Torino - a large outdoor market, also includes a indoor food court (and some shops) with some amazing local dishes. :)
14. Teatro romano di Torino (Roman Theatre in Turin) - an archeological site, featuring Roman ruins.
15. Giardini Reali di Torino - A peaceful garden/park beside the Musei Reali
16. Parco del Valentino - a large public park along the Po River. In the park is a castle, botanic garden, and replica medieval village.
17. Borgo Medievale - A medieval village replica built in ~1884, reflecting 15th century Piedmont architecture!
18. Not really included in this video, but something we highly recommend is the Egypt Museum! It is the largest outside of Egypt and was *fantastic* if you're into that sort of stuff!

One thing to definitely check out in Turin if you've the time is the Museo Egizio. It's the largest Egyptian archeological collection in the world besides the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

Nice video! Turin is my city, the gran Balon isn’t the biggest antique market in Europe. But if you walk just behind it in Piazza della Repubblica you’ll find the market of Porta Palazzo. Now, that is the biggest open market in Europe. They sell fresh groceries, household items and clothes. It is HUGE 😊
The Balon unfortunately it’s nothing compared to what it was 20-25 years ago.

Hi! Musei Reali means Royal Museums, and the Palace was the Royal Palace: Turin was the first capital of united Italy in the 1860s

In 2003 I was in Turin on long professional visit.
I had visited most of the places which you have covered in this beautiful video. I submit here that, few places, which you have explained in your this beautiful video, are able to understand the real facts about them!
You have refreshed my memories.
Thank you please!!

The ruins are all special, we don't have history near that old in the US. It would feel so nostalgic. The hot chocolate looked like syrup. The people there are night owls. The market was outstanding. Nice share guys. I enjoyed your video. New friend to your channel. I spent 3 weeks in Australia in 2001, so looking forward to checking out your home videos👍Like 24 and 991, rang the bell🙏

Turin is also called the little Paris. It is an Italian city but its history is more linked to France. Even the dialect spoken in Turin has more French words than Italian.

Porta Palatina Is the original parte of the city because It was created by Romans as a military camp.
