CNN International Business Correspondent Richard Quest says the US Federal Reserve is probably “behind the curve” with its newest interest rate cut.

The US Federal Reserve has cut interest rates for the first time in four years.

The move has been seen by some economists to cool the country’s economy and lower inflation.

“Jay Powell, the chair of the Fed, says that they didn’t want to get behind the curve,” Mr Quest said.

“The reality is though that if you’re doing a half a point now, you probably are behind the curve.”

They are not behind the curve. That is moronic.
It is also moronic for the Fed to do a massive rate cut with nothing to back it up.

Lower Interest rates will lead to a rise in inflation. Plus, more people borrowing for homes, when there is already a low supply. Just my opinion, but we have over 12 million new border crossers, and never had a recession. This could backfire...

This will also help albo and charlmers. Because the rba were to gutless to raise. Exchange rate will help bring down inflation as long as rba holds or rises.
