This is the most “dumbed down” part of shark week. Is the target audience 3-6 grade boys?

There’s reporters and everything talking to the sharks afterwards. “Zola how did it feel out there tonight?” “Num num num num.” “How were you able to get the air you did?” “Num num num.” “Well you heard it here folks. Zola says numnum num!” 😂

"If I was a shark, I couldn't pick a better day to have a go at a decoy"

Yeah because the shark is honestly thinking "I hate decoys I'm going to attack one today" 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Wow, 30mph, I'd always guessed about 25mph, the thing I usually talk about is their massive tail, if you look at the size of the tail in relation to the size of the shark, great whites have huge tails, everyone talks about the teeth and for good reason but for me the tail is what's amazing about them, the power it takes to propel them out of the water is awesome.

Good reminder for us all, that the ocean is not our domain.
Studying and understanding these creatures is one thing, making a game of this is different. We best not be messing with these creatures.
Those sharks are amazing though. I just didn't like the scoreboard stuff.
By the way, in case anyone cares,
In late March 1991 during Spring Break, I drove down with a group of buddies from Little Creek to Daytona Beach and DB Shores, Port Orange, and Ponce Inlet, Atlantic Coast of central Florida. We stayed at a decent and clean motel on the ocean in Daytona Beach Shores. With our Military discount, each room was $34.00 a night with little kitchen, nice deck and clean pool. Listen to me carrying on. It's a good memory.
About 8 of us were going on a full day deep sea fishing charter. That morning, before we were leaving for Ponce Inlet, which is not far south of Daytona. I was awake very early, took a walk down to the Sunglow pier. I found myself sitting at the far end of Sunglow Pier with some old timers who were definitely WW2 Navy Sailors, they all have that look. These guys were searching for the peace which comes with quiet and nature. and watching a spectacular sunrise over the North Atlantic, calm waters. We witnessed a Great White which was at least 8 or 9+ feet in length jumped out of the water and went for a seagull or other bird sitting on the surface.
These are once in a lifetime things. Of course I had no video camera, just a 35mm with a lot of nice sunrise pics before ripping through the film to the end.
I've seen schools of smaller black sharks not far from the beach.
God, I sure am lucky to have seen that.
I was almost afraid to write how big the shark was, as I have no way of confirming and backing up what I witnessed, only my word in front of God and my Honor to our Nation, this shark was at least 8 feet long or slightly bigger.
Certainly not the biggest shark anyone ever witnessed, but it gave me a chilling reminder of why humans are supposed to swim in pools. 😂

One last note, our Charter Captain, liked us because we showed him and his mates a ton of respect. The Captain took us out at least a hour ride at 18 knots. We were dropping lines in 250' of water and catch the usual Red Snapper and my one buddy caught something and by the time he wound it up to the surface, a shark had gotten it, leaving only the head. We laughed like Hell about that.
Good times, indeed.

God Bless Everyone.
Peace to all.
Cústos.

love the post-breach analysis! "so much control and athleticism". Shark: "Ive been training hard for today. Coach has pushed me beyond what even I thought was possible."

Only Americans could take something so naturally amazing and turn it into a tacky piece of sensationalised bullshit.
Bravo.

I've always loved watching Shark Week but I'm rather disappointed that you're making a game out of this. It makes it look like your just playing around. What happened to the serious research? What benefit is this for the shark population or for the human population in and around these areas?

The Shark footage is AMAZING!!! The folks actually on the water? Under the water!!!? They're BRAVE as heck!!!! I STOPPED swimming since I'd seen JAWS. Well... in the ocean anyway. But (to my mind) people are either arrogant or STUPID... or BOTH!!! How are you gonna turn an animal's LIFE into some CRAZY "sport" for your entertainment? It's so DAMNED... INSANE!!!!
