If you have this issue and don't fancy all the work your friend is a hair dryer. Warms up that horrid grease they use, keep clicking it until it starts working and finish off with some spray. Saves taking anything off the bike. Works well on older shifters where the grease has gone sticky and firmer with age.

I’ve been wrestling with a gear set which didn’t shift down (to higher number gears) for ages. The derailleur seems fine so I shall check for this issue. It’s an old bike with an original Altus shifter so it’s quite possible. I’ll be delighted if this is the problem.

Chegou pra mim 2 serviços iguais a esse, também fiz o mesmo procedimento que você fez, porém além do oleo passei um pouco de graxa sintética bem fininha, pra lubrificação durar mais tempo. Tenho 2 trocadores XT e um STI Ultegra aqui com defeitos mais sérios 😞.

great vid but no need to tear it apart, just flush it really good with light oil through the cable feed.

Used to run them under hot water with a bit of dissh detergent until the old grease unstuck, then a shot of Triflow and they clicked like new again.
