'You Don't Have Permission To Do That'

Today's installment brings us to the public sidewalks just outside this Spanish congregation. There was an open door covered with a screen to our left of the main entrance. A couple of people noticed us through the screen & one of them asked if we were recording , also asking if we wanted to go back, seeming somewhat confused about what we were doing. after we declined to go inside at that moment, he turned directions & went down the hallway inside & out of sight. We were met on the sidewalk by one of the church members curious also about our presence & wanted to know why we were recording. He'd also asked if we had permission to record. I told him that yes, indeed , I did have permission, but not from anyone at the church. After a couple of minutes of back & forth with him, he asked if he should call police, as he began to make his way back onto the property. We continued our documenting when a jeep began to exit the parking lot. I noticed what appeared to be rather dark tint, as I couldn't see anything inside the car. Seconds later, the driver backed up & rolled his window down to get our attention. It was the same individual from minutes earlier who engaged us through the screen door. This time, he had an issue with our cameras, telling us we didn't have permission to record him. I suggested that if he simply left his window up, We would have never seen who he was. Just as we were engaged in conversation with the driver, the voice of reason showed up. This individual was rather knowledgeable about our rights under the First Amendment & seemingly threw the driver of the jeep under the bus , affirming what we said about if he'd left his window up, he wouldn't have appeared on camera as he was exiting the parking lot. A shout out definitely goes to the individual in blue, who was supportive of our activity on the sidewalk.
