Fix “You don’t currently have permission to access this folder” Windows 10, 8, 7

Receiving popup error You Do Not Have Permission To Access when you try and open a folder or drive? This is related to a permissions issue and needs to be changed. You will need to be administrator to make these changes to fix you don't currently have permission to access this folder error.

Not matter how much you try to access the hard drive or folders on that computer you will get "You have been denied permission to access this folder"

This can happen on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10.

This also can happen on any computer or laptop manufacturer HP, Acer, Compaq, Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung, Dell, Asus, ROG, Alienware, Fujitsu, Sony.

You can also use this to fix Permission Network Error “Windows Cannot Access” these are all related to User Permission Error.

Wow, Microsoft has some nerve! It's 2019 and they still use this fucked up security system...

Thank you. For 2 years I've had one program that went wanky and I could only open it by using the Administrator request. I googled, spoke to the software tech people, and finally you fixed the problem

Thank you so much! Very helpful. The first method did not work from the drive folder but the 2nd method choosing the specific folder worked well. Very clear and helpful video. Great job. Thank you very much.

dude you are the only one i see doing it by the local group policy and its the only thing that works without me having to edit a whole drive worth of files (which is not ideal)
I need to turn this feature on and off a lot and i have been coming back to this video for years now.

you are a LIFESAVER love you so much

The first method worked nicely for me. I was trying to access data on my old laptop drive that I had added as an external drive. Thanks a lot & bless you!

This helped me finally access the folder on the network, well done. I have Win 10 v1803 running on two computers - and even though using windows settings to do all the right things, it fails. So I have had to go behind the scenes as it were firstly to see the folder ( a vid elsewhere), and then using your video to change the level of access, even though using windows controls I set everything up for file sharing.

One wonders how microsoft get away with it, promising you if you do this then that will happen and it simply does not. We all are left relying on videos like yours to perform the tasks Microsoft say we can do using their interfaces.

That was really good and thorough the only one that I didn't know about was the permission is being enabled in the local group editor. Badass video dude thank you

Great job, this worked flawlessly for me and my issue deleting a file within a folder which wasn't allowing me to do it prior. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this. Was desperately trying to access data from a hard drive I removed and couldn't get at the user files! This did it - took a couple of tries - ended up having to change permissions on the drive, not the folders, but THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!
