I loved AION and read it twice. I am an Astrologer now for 30 years and I've studied Jung for 30 years. He wrote aa lot about it in Mysterium Conuinctionis and the other 2 large volumes on Alchemy. Alchemy was Astrology that had to go underground because of the Catholic inquisition and is based on a worldview that everything in the Cosmos is one unified organism. This is what the ancients believed until the 15th century when God fell out of heaven as Nietsche said and man took on what he called the Superman. An ancient dictum of the Alchmists was As Above, So Below, As Within, So Without. Like an infinity symbol what is inside is also outside and it is always happening. Synchronicity is an explanation of this as it is not cause and effect. It is acausal.

At most I would think later religions developed out of sun worship. But it also makes a great deal of sense to say that new religions retroactively incorporate pre-existing religious elements into their structure.
