V8 ebay exhaust cutout

ebay 2 1/2inch cutout after catalytic converter. Chevy Silverado 5.3L stock. Let me know what you guys think about this cheap item. I think its worth it. Works perfectly fine.

Yeah I got some of the cheap-o-eBay cutouts… leaked and rattled…simple fix cured the leak and rattle…grease the perimeter of the butterfly flap get some permatex high temp sealant #81878 put the sealant on the seat where flap meets seat. Shut the valve and leave for 24 hours. The grease will keep the flap from sticking to the sealant…worked for me.

The issue you may run into with this cheap cutout is the gearing will not be sealed and will fill with crap. That cutout won't open or close properly in a few years. Less if you drive it in dirty environments.

I got the same one on my camaro they are worth the money but over time break. Sometimes you have to double click the open or close button for it to open or close fully. But they beat the ones you have to physically unscrew to open!

Ive got one of the ebay ones that was 75$ but i wouldn't recommend them, after a few months of opening and closing it its failed to seal correctly, for example if i leave it in the closed position and go to start the car again it raddles alot and the car sounds like shit, i have to open and close it 3 to 4 times before it properly closes, i would recommend the cutout kits off summit racing they are built to last and have great review's... the extra 100$ is well worth it in my opinion, now i got to take this POS cutout off and put in a quality made one.

if u guys are going to install cutouts in any truck make sure u guys get from an authorized store most of eBay cutouts remote control mufflers are junk only the motor that opens the valve the whole part that hold the motor is made out of plastic badly designed becaureful guys u get what u pay for!!!!
