Exhaust Cutout Explained | What is an exhaust cutout? Cutout installed on this Acura TL

This video explains what a cutout is and does.. We cut out a piece of pipe and weld the cutout... the customer left with the valve opened. WE DO NOT WIRE IT AT THE SHOP...The customer will either do it himself or have it wired to the fuse box where he has a switch to open or close the valve.

install it before the catalyzer and you'll have unrestricted airflow making more power and more noise altogether, if that's a remote air channel it'll allow you to run both stock and performance just by switching the remote on or off, other performance mods can be done but this seems like the easiest in terms of airflow restriction

needs to be installed before the cat though, otherwise you're still getting minor restrictions maybe not game changing but there is a difference installing before and after the cat, the cat restricts fumes such as gasoline from exiting which means you're restricting the overall output, go to a race day or race track and it'll most likely smell of gas for the same reasons, missing cats for better airflow and less restriction since the overall car isn't using the onboard computer to diagnose smog levels meaning more power is still available from the overall battery since you're using less electronics as well. this is why people strip cars for weight and electronics

For me I'd take cats off and keep the 2 muffler but have a valve for when you dont want mufflers and you wanna be all out on the sound of the car but then close the values so the cops dont check for your missing cats 😂😂😂

I was looking at this design but there is a different style that seals WAY better for only $25 more. The reviews ive seen on this 1 show that they dont seal well at all and id bet money if yiu held the camera uo to it you will hear a massive exhaust leak. Just my 2 cents
