How to Decide Which S-5! Clamp to Use | RENVU

RENVU Solar Equipment Distribution
S-5!® clamps attach to the panel seam by the tightening of two "bullet-nosed" stainless steel setscrews against the seam material. (This is usually done with an industrial grade screwgun.) The setscrews compress the seam material against the opposite wall of the clamp. They will "dimple" the seam material, but will not penetrate it. Threaded holes in the clamp (and stainless hardware provided) enable the easy attachment of various ancillary items to the clamps.
The S-5-U clamp is by far our most popular and most versatile clamp. It will fit about 85% of the standing seam profiles manufactured in North America — including most structural and architectural profiles. It can be used on vertically oriented seams, and by rotating the clamp 90 degrees, it can also be used on most horizontal 2" seam profiles. Its simple design, generous dimensioning and multiple hole orientations are what make it so versatile for use with S-5!® snow retention products and other heavy-duty applications.
The S-5-S clamps are extraordinarily versatile clamps, specifically created for popular snap-together standing seam profiles. The S-5-S or S-5-S Mini can be used to avoid having to crimp-seam profiles such as Firestone UC4 and New Tech Machinery SS550 and SS675. They also accommodate horizontal seams where the horizontal projection is under 0.54 inches without the need to double fold the seam!
The S-5-E clamp is designed specially for double-folded standing seam roof profiles having the appropriate dimensioning. This clamp is also the one recommended for Butler's MR24™.
Architects and roof designers choose copper roofing for its timeless elegance and durability. The S-5-B ("B" for "Brass") allows architects to maintain that theme with all equipment and accessories that must be mounted to the roof with permanence and durability consistent with the roof itself.
This clamp is specifically designed for double-folded copper standing seam paneling and batten profiles.
The S-5-T clamp is specially developed to fit profiles having a "T" shaped seam configuration. It will also work on architectural "single-fold," or "angle-seam" profiles having a horizontal projection of 5/8" or less. Its two-piece design allows it to be easily installed anywhere along the length of the panel seam.
The S-5-Z clamp is specially developed to fit profiles having a round "bulb" seam configuration. Its two-piece design allows it to be easily installed anywhere along the length of the rib.
The S-5-Z is perfect for S-5!® snow retention products and other heavy-duty applications.
The S-5-Q clamp was specifically developed to accommodate metal roof panels having a large, round "bulb" seam configuration up to 29 mm. It will also fit smaller bulb-shaped profiles that were not seamed correctly, allowing the seam to be utilized without modification.
The S-5-K700 clamp was designed with patented S-5!® zero penetration technology for application needs with the very distinctive roof profiles of Stramit Speed Deck Ultra®, Lysaght Klip-Lok 700 Hi-Strength®, Fielders KingKlip®, and roofing types with similar profiles.
The S-5-KHD is the most heavy-duty and durable clamp in the S-5!® family. Designed primarily for new construction, this clamp fits the very distinctive profiles of the Lysaght 406®, McElroy Mirage, Metal Sales Clip Loc, and AEP-SPAN Klip-Rib®. This clamp features an insert that is placed on the intermediate seam for extra hold. Significantly stronger than anything else on the market for these profile types, this clamp is geared for snow retention systems and other heavy duty applications in new construction where holding strength is critical. More strength means fewer rows of assembly, and roof warranties remain intact with zero penetration S-5! technology.
