The Problem with FORCED Apple & Windows Updates

Microsoft is ending Windows 10 support forever on October 14, 2025.
This means Windows 10 will not be getting any more updates, which will make it a major security risk for anyone still on the OS. But Windows 11 has its own list of issues that has prevented many people from upgrading, so what's next? Does this put more devices at risk of crashes like the Crowdstrike outage? How do Apple and Microsoft differ in retiring operating systems? Why?

Also sometimes for older hardware you may go to look for the driver and discover it is not available any more. Save the drivers you downloaded somewhere safe like an external hard drive. You will be glad you did one day when you look for it and for some reason it is gone. I would not trust my only copy of a critical file to a flash drive. I would have a couple different external drives with copies of them. You never know when a driver for your favorite scanner or printer or other device might become unavailable. It may happen with older devices that are "obsolete" or not being sold any more at least no more first sales (from them or someone who sells it new).

Why would you utter such an anti-consumer, monopolistic, loaded statement that cloaks enormous corporate greed and profit, then completely skip past it unaddressed? This monopolistic company has unrelenting, profit-driven motivations behind every single one of their actions, and are slowly reversing decades of consumer empowerment trends to the detriment of an entire generation! That's not something that can just be glossed over! We're being systematically disempowered and removed from the decision making processes that govern our technology, and windows 11 is a massive step in the wrong direction, but you "like it", even though your operating system spies on and advertises to you? When will enough be enough?
