Lyrics:

Well I pray, every day
That the good Lord'll keep me safe
And I try to hide all this fear built in my spine
Kill a man today, so I can see your pretty face
Until I arrive in your arms

Well I don't know what you're doing
Fightin' in this silly war
You're not a Yankee, love
Nor a gray-back Confederate
Tryin' to keep these slaves abhorred

You were just a simple man
Tryin' to do these things the best you can
Now it's time to come on home
I gotta baby in the oven
That I need to see before she gets old

Well I don't know what I'm doing
Fighting in this stupid war
I'm not a Yankee or a gray-back anymore
I've killed so many men just to kill so many more
Just wanna see my baby before I die
In this shitstorm

Until I die in your arms
Until I die in your arms
Until I die in your arms

Completely blown away by this group of talented musicians. Best vocals, arrangements, and well written songs about real life. Fantastic originality and creativity. A+ highly recommended.

I found this band by by chance. I was knocked out by the In Hell I'll Be...video outdoors so shared it immediately with my (mainly Uk) FB friends here in Scotland. What a random find find! Where would we all be without YouTube!?

This is their best song. All are great, but this is TOPS.

Been listening the The Dead South since 2016 but discovered this song this year and I've listened to it 100's of times now, can't decide on my favorite between this, Banjo Odessy, Blue Trash, The Recap, or Broken Cowboy, but I mean with such an amazing group of musicians is it even possible to decide a favorite song?

This song reminds me of my son fighting in Iraq. Wounded, home, married a Navy Nurse and 3 boys later happily ever after. War sucks

You know, the narrative of a man fighting his way through the American Civil War to get back home would be amazing. No Greyback or Yankee, the man just wants to get home to his wife and baby.

So happy to have stumbled across this band again. I used to listen to them at least 2 years ago. Stumbled across Good Company again tonight and I'm listening to these great songs again.

So, never heard of you guys til 2 days ago. I'm mainly an alternative rock guy, but you won me over on the first listen of "In Hell I'll be in Good Company." Been binge listening ever since. This song takes me back to my Army days in Iraq in 04 when we all missed that girl back home. You guys are awesome. Hope you come to North Carolina someday!
