The Premier League is widely regarded as the most entertaining. As Magnus Henderson writes, despite Spain’s dominance in the European competitions, it is England’s Premier League that is the most popular league in the world, thanks, in part, to their dominance of the TV market.

But how do television rights work? Let’s find out...

As an English-speaking Asian viewer, I think Premier League, in being English itself, is already a significant advantage. The whole viewing experience is unmatched against other top 5 leagues, from pre-match analysis to in-game commentary to post-match. No doubt other leagues are trying, but with English being the international language, Premier League will always have this linguistic advantage.

The title should be “why PL is the most popular league”

Ah yes, I’ve always known that the Venezuelan Over 50’s Pensioner Divison was the best league in the world

Constructive criticism: I love your vids, watched you obsessively since around 15k subs, but I kinda think that the content of the video is not so much in line with the title of the video. I thought you were gonna do analyses, statistics and such, comparing the top 5 leagues, but here it seems that you focused mainly on the broadcasting money redistribution, which is important for this topic but does not answer the question entirely for me

Alternative title: Why the PL need Ibrahim Sangare to cement their claim to the best league in the world.

When Leicester won the league it showed that anyone can get up and win it. The talent playing in the EPL is way more evenly distributed than the other major leagues making it a far more enjoyable league to follow IMO. I like the possibility of smaller clubs coming from nowhere and taking the title.

Also English is sort of considered the whole world's lingua franca. So international broadcast of the EPL can be enjoyed slightly easier even in countries that don't have native language broadcast translators.

Why is the discussion on which is the best league a purely financial one? The video didn't really fit the title

I was here to see where Serie A was in this conversation. Disappointed. Thought it would be a comparison of strength of teams in the top 5 leagues and seeing how that's evolved over time, but instead it's primarily talking TV rights for two leagues only.

“Anyone can beat anyone”
Both Madrids, Barca and Sevilla : “Should we concede 7 goals against Osasuna to get all hype “

The reason why PL is exciting is because you never know which team may emerge as the underdog and challenge for the title. Anyone can beat anyone. Both Utd and Liverpool got destroyed last night which no one expected. The PL is unpredictable which is what makes it exciting unlike other leagues where we are having the same 1 or 2 teams as champions since the last decade

Ah yes, that equitable income distribution in the EPL...that results in them getting trounced by Sevilla in the UEL every year.

A video on the downfall, present, and future of Serie A would be great.

In the 1980s it was Italy. La Liga is consistently the best since the late 1990s. They win in Europe as pointed out, and they play the best technical football (Premier League and Bundesliga are more physical). The Premier League's financial muscle might be too powerful, however, and we'll soon see the best football in England.
