I just picked these up last week on a work trip to Tokyo for $140 after the exchange rate. Couldn’t be happier!

I've been playing the AG version of these since April. This is one of my favorite boots ever. The best part for me is that when I put them on, they disappear. No foot pain, no stud pressure, no weird squeezing on foot or toes and no dead spots. It really feels like I'm not wearing anything, which is great most of the time, except when I get stepped on.

I had to go a whole size down. I use a size US 11 in Vapors. I got these exact black Alphas MIJ in US 10 and they fit like a glove. I bought them in March of these year when this color way was launched in Japan. Got them for 21, 500 yen and during that time the currency exchange, came out to be about $165. Half the cost of the Alpha MIJ here in the USA. Shout out to the Kamo Soccer shop in Shibuya!

Glad you got a second chance at these! I watched your reviews about them before I picked mine up in Japan. I love them so much and I hope you finally get to really enjoy them this time 👍🏼

Fantastic review. One of my favourite speed boots of the past few years.

I think because the leather on the MN4B softens and stretches, half a size is the way to go. Since the Alphas are synthetic and less forgiving, true to size is a good idea

I picked these up in the spring to use in my rec leagues & I absolutely adore them. I’ve always been into speed boots and had been liking the Vapor 13s, but the Alphas feel like they were made for me. The traditional tongue is a nice bonus. Just an outstanding speed boot if you like synthetic uppers. Sizing is wonky, though.

Can I suggest one thing to make this even better, go full mizuno and buy their zero glide laces to go with the shoes. The laces of the boots is the only thing that i find slightly lacking, typically have to readjust midway. with the zero glide no such issue.

Will a one month review of the Tekela V4 Low come out soon? Would really like to see such a review!

I always go half a size up for Mizunos compared to Nike and Adidas. They’re the same in UK size but not in US. I recommend going by UK size and not US size: it’s inconsistent lol.

I haven't been able to buy a pair myself, but someone told me that the AG version of the Mizuno Alpha MIJ actually lacks the karvo half-board. Instead it has the nylon half-board of the Morelias. That really bugs me if its true, because the price doesn't change. The AG version also lacks the external heel counter. That's confirmable just by looking at photos. Anyone have any idea why Mizuno thinks an AG specific soleplate shouldn't have an external heel counter?

If the AG soleplate Alpha MIJ lacks the karvo, seems to me it's a bad purchase, because the studs on the normal Alpha MIJ shown in this video really aren't that bad for artificial grass, in part because the studs aren't terribly long. It's an HG soleplate in all but name.

Hey, just watched your review. I currently have an 8.5 in the Morelia Neo Beta and my regular, sneaker shoe-size is an 8. I’m debating on getting an 8 in the alphas. I have very narrow, small feet. Appreciate the help and review.

They look great! Glad these worked out for you — I still haven’t got a pair, and I fear I’m going to have to get two sizes and return one to avoid being disappointed… out of curiosity are you still using 1/2 down on the ASICS Xfly boots or did you go back to true to size?
