“I smell burning brakes” – Emilio

This weekend on a drive with some friends, I smelled burning brakes. I didn’t think much of it since I didn’t notice anything wrong with the way the bus felt. When we finally did pull over, the smell was worse, and I decided to check the brake temperatures. Yup, something was definitely wrong since the rear passenger side brake was hot enough to fry an egg on!
Anyone who has ever done drum brakes on an aircooled VW knows that taking the rear drums off on the road is just about impossible, especially with limited tools.
So with that I headed home, called a friend, and got to work.

A huge THANK YOU to Andy for lending me his puller and impact wrench! I would not have been able to do this job with such ease without those tools!
