Recently the brake caliper on my friend's car started smoking after driving even a short distances. The wheel and brake rotor would become blazing hot - it would burn your finger if you touched it. There was also burning smell and greying whiting powder coating the rim and a brake caliper. Generally there are three main reasons for smoking brakes: seized brake cylinder(s), seized brake caliper sliding (guiding) pins, or clogged/pinched brake fluid line. I fixed mine by opening bleeder screw on caliper start the car push brake few many times until oil starts coming out almost enough to fill a cup. Then put oil back in reservoir engine off press brake few times until pedal stiff and tight bleeder screw.

I've recently changed driver's side slide caliper pins..it's kinda less hot, , tomorrow changing the other side..if still hot then I know is the master cylinder

Very Good video. Thanks. Got a problem. Changed all 4 calipers, rotors and pads. Did the bleeding, derived about 4 miles but still the break is very spongy. What should I do?

Today i had new rotor new caliper an brakes put on 98 durango afterwards test drove came back massively smoking removed tire put two lugs on the studs and tire would not turn i understand new rotors caliper and brakes everything is tight but when i put the old rotor back on with new caliper and brakes the wheel will spin smh this certain giy telling me the reason it not turning is because my knuckle is bent quite frankly i font believe it my bracket was missing a bolt and the new t45 torx pin the caliper came with wouldn't fit the bottom but would the top i think that has something to do with it because i have no problems 8n my steering wheel im just trying to get opinions ive check wheel bearing and it is good

I have a Toyota Camry LE 2001 2.2 liter 4 cyl engine . When i was driving it today it smells like a burnt rubber . And the brakes kinda smokes to the passenger tire .and i heard kinda grinding noise when i brake .Iam thinking its my brake pads .I have no experience on this kinda issue . I was gonna change my brake pads . Any good info would be appreciated

I replaced both my calipers, and only the right one is smoking but that disc is extremely grooved. Is the disc the problem or ?
