Excellent Henrik. So many others make a 'big thing' about this.

Nice vid - I use both Thumb/Index finger to lightly grab the drone whilst landing on the hand (as previously it almost got blown off the flat hand).
The idea is simply to gently secure it, obviously watch out for the props etc.

Always enjoy your videos and your jovial attitude. 👍

For landing, I just let it hover near me, take hold of it from the bottom and hold the stick down until it gives up the fight.

Good video, and my additional advice would be, always wear a cut resistent glove on the catching hand, cat/level 5, and with high wind also safety-glasses.
The gloves are helpful in winter too🔥

Just figuring out all this hand landing malarkey. I've done it the 'bad boy' way quite a bit... I'll practice doing it more gently now... Seems simple enough 😃👍 Thank you.

I'll hand launch if the area is muddy or sandy, but usually will use a landing pad. I was never a fan of the landing pads until I started using one... helps with targeted landings and taking off / landing in grassy areas.

I have put a pair of foldable skis to the underside of my drone. In wind conditions, I can hand land and easily grab the skis while the drone is winding down. A very good alternative to the naff looking leg extensions

I appreciate you doing this video. I watched this video by the way you titled it and yes it does look pretty easy. I had a mini 3 and I moved up to a mini 4 and I am still in orientation mode with everything the mini 4 is capable of. The launch and landing sequences on both are identical and there are a fair number of people out there showing how to hand launch and catch these new little mini series drones.

I have not done it. All the caveats that come along with doing it keep me from trying it regardless of how convenient it may be in many and probably most situations. It's those situations where you have to watch out and be extra careful and that are not necessarily in your control that puts me off. The dash of wind or unstable footing that puts the drone into my face or makes me miss the catch. RTH with landing is out of the question in my opinion. There is no way you can make your hand the home point. The manufacturer did not design and did not intend for these little buzz blades to be physically handled while running.

I simply eliminate any situation (including boats) that makes it impossible to let the drone RTH safely.

Try third landing option - the combination between your palm landing and your badass landing. Use your fingers to grip its body, but don't turn it over, just press your sick down until motors stop themself like in palm landing.

My favoured method is to bring the drone down to just above face level, hold it between finger and thumb at the back of the battery (as you did) and then kill the motors by bringing the left stick straight down. You don't need to invert it.

For the Mini’s I use the flat palm for the larger drones shape your fingers like you are playing a guitar

I keep my drone, controller, battery packs, spares and accessories in a Pelican case. The hard case also doubles as a launching pad.

Other tip I’d add is to take note of the wind direction when landing. Standing with my back against a structure / car, fly the drone upwind when coming into land to use the structure as a wind break.

Hello sir, how to about fixed MUI altitude error after hard landing with hand?

I use the grab and turn on it's side technique with My M3P

The emergency off function also starts the motors and then you simply throttle up to take off.
I have the controller hanging from my neck from the strap.

Landing in the hand looks practical, but if an unexpected gust of wind took your drone away like it did in the beginning, it could go straight into your eyes while the propellers are still spinning, wouldn't it?

Don't the sensors have to be off to land it in your palm?

Thats one way. My way of launching is to hold it with my thumb and indexfinger, turn on the propellers and just move the drone slightly up and down. That way the sensors kick in and it starts lifting off. As soon as it pulls let go. For handcatching I use the Shaka (surfers) sign (without the rotation of course). The drone lands on the 3 middle fingers and a grab it might my thumb and pink. Try it!

I have a lanyard on my controller which means I dont have to hold it whist I prepare the drone.
