I was on my high school and college swim teams. The thought of diving scared me. I wish I had a dive coach like this.

It's scary for a parent to watch this. My son was a gymnast. He was recruited to join diving in high school. I'm not sure what training he actually received. At an early meet, he flipped and hit his head on the board. They lost interest in him, and I was happy that he got away.
Diving is a beautiful sport, but you need real coaching. Even watching this...I wish he had had real coaching. Without it, it's just dangerous.

Nice. That instinct to stop yourself mid flip, especially backwards for me, is hard to fight.

I remember my first dives. We had lived by the ocean mostly. The first time i saw that diving board it might as well have been 30 stories high. 😊

I hated reverse dives. Spotting always freaked me out, especially with a hurdle included. So scary haha. I know its a lower level skill but its not easy and such a weird feeling throwing your body that way. All that said, this makes me miss diving a lot haha
