I'd add MetLife to the list. Between the cold weather, the issues with the stadium's turf, and the logistical disaster that surrounded their lone Super Bowl hosting gig, I don't think the NFL wants to have their biggest stage be in Jersey again.

Yes, pretty much agree with the list. The driving factor is that the NFL is getting into the vacation/travel business. They want to sell vacation packages that include going to the big game. Nobody wants to go to Detroit for vacation, that's why the Super Bowl is always in Florida, Arizona or New Orleans - and now L.A. too. And that's why the NFL has so many European games, so they can sell vacation packages. I'm sure the NCAA is doing this too in relation to the playoffs and championship games.

You can't forget the concerns that weather could affect people's ability to travel to and from the game. Flying to Detroit or Minneapolis is almost always not a problem, but if a blizzard hit on super bowl weekend that's a lot of money that somebody loses.

I'm actually shocked Levi's Stadium is getting a second Super Bowl

Another catch with Jacksonville is that, it you are going to Florida, why Jacksonville? Basically a poor man’s Tampa, which is a poor man’s Miami.

You pictured Lucas Oil Stadium but didn't say anything about it. Its definitely on this list. Indianapolis basically got a "pity" superbowl after bidding for a 2nd time. Its unfortunate since as an overall event city Indianapolis is great with so many hotels within walking distance to the stadium which is right downtown.

You forgot about Stanford Stadium, Rice Stadium and LA Memorial Coliseum. All of which hosted Super Bowls.

I live in Jax. There just isn't the infrastructure or amenities for a Super Bowl here no matter what the stadium has.

It's crazy to think that the Rose Bowl is the 3rd best football stadium in LA after the Coliseum and SoFi. Not many cities have such a collection of iconic stadiums.

New Orleans and Miami have hosted more super bowls than any other city and nobody else will catch up. Warm weather and tourism are hard to beat.

What about MetLife in New Jersey; it hosted a Super Bowl. When the NFL goes to 18 game seasons; the Super Bowl will likely be held on the Sunday before Presidents Day. That is 2 weeks later in the calendar than it was previously held in NJ. Less likely to have a blizzard or snow event that was predicted for the first time.

I want a Super Bowl in Cleveland. Football next to the lake in February. Old time football.

I’ve driven through Buffalo in the winter. Let’s give their new stadium a SB.

Me and my dad went to the Jacksonville Super Bowl. We had to stay in Daytona. Also, it took three hours for our bus to get out of the parking lot.

If you have been to the superdome you wouldn't consider it overrated.

This would never be an issue with the Grey Cup in Canada.

It is sad seeing the Rose Bowl and Sun Devil stadium on the list. I’m not sure if ASU owns sun devil stadium or not, but there’s just not enough money in UCLA or ASU football for those stadiums to get the lovely upgrades and modernization. One thing I love about college football is the stadiums are all 100+ years old and the schools do a great job freshening them up, adding the suites and luxury boxes, expanding concourses, etc. while usually maintaining the history of the place. I’d love to see you do a series covering the great college stadiums. I’m a southern boy, so you know we love our college football lol

This is why I think it’s so stupid that Nashville is spending two billion dollars on a new Titans stadium instead of things that could actually help the city. We’re gonna get the Super Bowl once and then never again, and it’ll just be this tax albatross that stops us from getting good transit or road improvements.

The NFL will never hold a SB at MetLife again, for sure.

The cotton bowl in Dallas has been pretty much deserted since they opened AT&T stadium. It gets only a handful of events all year.

Forgotten Places, any thoughts on Indy? I know their stadium is beautiful but the downtown and weather are honestly pretty comparable to Detroit. They’ve gotten both though.
