You are a genius! I have been knitting for about 8 years now and honest to God, never I would have thought of "spacing" my stitches when using the long tail cast on method! Thank you so much for sharing this video and all your other so helpful videos! I have been a subscriber to your channel for some time now and it is one of the best "knitting" decision I have made so far! Thank you so much!😊

This is by far the best presentation I have ever seen about the mechanics of the long tail cast on. Thank you so much - the visual effect of using the two colors helps me to understand what's going on with the stitches. What an "aha" moment for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

This is a brilliant demonstration ! It is the only time I ‘ve ever seen two colors tied together to illustrate the actions of the tail and ball ends of the yarn. Great visual.

I am just about to knit a gauge swatch for a project that calls for a long-tail cast-on, but I couldn't recall how it went… Thank goodness I have found and watched this video of yours!! Thank you so much for recording it and sharing it.

Thanks, you killed the myth of two needles very scientifically!

I love the way you use two colors to show what looks like the first row is actually part of the cast on and what it looks like when you knit the first row. I am embarrassed to say how long it took me to realize that.

This is such a great way of doing the long tail cast on (two balls of yarn). I have a sweater that calls for a LTCO with 234 stitches. I HATE running out of tail or having too much; this is perfect. I usually do a cable cast on or knitted cast on when there are more than 30 stitches to cast on, but I think this will be my new way of casting on. I also now understand the mechanics of the LTCO and why many of my projects call for a CO row and a couple of “set up” rows. Most importantly, I now know my CO is NOT my first row.

dispelling the myths with actual visible proof ...great as always ...thank you ...just tried something I hadn't seen before ...casting for a triangle shawl ...the cast on is only the slip knot ...row 1 kfb ...row 2 kfb k to the end of row ...and so it goes ...a beautiful sharp point or corner for a diagonal scarf / shawl ...hint or comments always appreciated ...t.

This is such an excellent tutorial. Using the two colors helped me to finally understand how to count rows correctly. Thank you for NOT chitting and chatting but instead getting right to the point.

Thank you for showing and explaining the technical aspect of knitting! It’s so much easier to make a good product when you understand how it’s put together.

This is EXACTLY the problem I’ve been having with the 2 needle cast on. The result reminds me of the stitches you get when making broomstick lace in crochet. Your instruction just saved me! Thank you!
