I hardly see how a removable phone back would "increase manufacturing complexity" vs having to use a curved piece of glass. In fact, they increased manufacturing complexity so we COULDN'T get into the phone lol.

The Galaxy S5, my favorite phone, had a removable battery and was water proof. It was amazing.

Pretty much all phones used to have replaceable batteries, although nice to see it back, if you like your current phone then it's good for doubling it's lifespan.

The EU need to force phone manufacturers to continue pushing Android OS updates for long enough for the phone to even need a battery replacement.

My old Nokia just push a button and slide the battery off the back of the phone and slide a charged one on, in Seconds. Loved that phone

I remember jumping inside swimming pool with Motorola G3 recording myself, which definitely has openable backside and water resistant too. 🤷‍♂️

I’ll only open and let the battery and body dry up before charging again. It works still fine.
