Non removable batteries are fine as long as they keep the stock of replacement batteries at affordable price.

Definitely I should be able to remove the battery and replace it without going to a shop and paying them to do it. Also if you carry a spare battery that makes it run twice as long.

Easier to repair should be priority. We can still get batteries replaced but cost and labour charges are much higher now. If official service center can stop profit making on phones and support with original parts at real price with low service charges it makes lot more sense.

I am in favour of non-removable. Because as you can see, the cases of battery bloating is reduced drastically compared to same cases in removable batteries.

user replaceable battery is a must i dont care if it looks ugly or if there is no IP rating tell me how do u know if the battery is swelling inside slowly if there is no way to check it i have no trust atall what the battery health software reports

Its not for ip rating imagine someone steels your phone and removes the battery keeping a non removable battery can make your phone more trackable when you lost it.

if a phone has no ip rating, then the phone should have a removable battery option if it has a good ip rating (which are costly) should have non removable battery.

Plenty of phones have had ip 68 rating with removal batteries.

now a days batteries easily last 3 to 5 years. After that most probably we are going to change our mobile . So non replaceable batteries are fine IMO

Removable batteries were a good idea considering the brands like Nokia were. But nowadays a normal smartphone only comes around 1-2 years old. If they introduce removable batteries to such phones, it will compromise the design and structural strength.
