Worked in a deli for two years and you can’t underestimate a good quality slicer. No matter the fat content or the grain, deli slicers can cut anything tissue paper thin, practically see through

hard agree on having a decent quality meat slicer. I lucked out and bought a really good one for dirt cheap from a closing restaurant during covid and I'll never get rid of it. might pass it down to my 8 year old son when I die lmfao

I almost bought one of these but I learned a cheaper way. I do KBBQ like this all the time, but I use my cuisinart food processor with the slicing attachment on the thinest setting. I buy beef roast (whatever is cheapest like chuck or round) and cut it into cubes that will fit on the opening of the food processor, freeze them, and then slice it. It works like a charm. I'm done with 3-5lbs of meat in 5-10 minutes. I've also done with pork it's amazing. Plus, it's an appliance I already have. They cost between $100-200 depending on the size and can be used for more than just cutting meat.

UPDATE:

After using this method for 7 years on the same blade of the same machine I did have to replace the blade. I did try a ninja before replacing the blade on my Cuisinart and it did not do the job.

As someone who works at a meat factory, we get 40% off every meat. Sometimes even free meat if there is extra or canceled orders. All of the meats, tri tips, briskets, beef patties you name it🙏🤙🏾

In the 80's and 90's schools use to have paper cutters that had a heavy razor sharp 1.5-2 foot blade made to cut stacks of paper always wanted one for cutting meat look one up.

Yep I ran into this for slicing ribeye for Philly cheesesteaks really thin. I bought a cheap meat slicer and it sucked. Then I bought a 500 dollar commercial deli slicer and it's perfect...it slices it to any thickness and deosnt even need to be frozen.

I used to work in a restaurant kitchen that had a really nice slicer like you showed at the end. They do last a very long time with proper cleaning. The one we had even had a sharpening grit at the top when your blade got dull

That meat cutter reminds me of the old school paper Cutters we had in school when I was a kid I always thought they were dangerous as hell in school for little kids but they were also pretty cool I doubt they have in school anymore

It’s funny because I did the same thing as you. Bought the same exact cheap slicer then upgraded to the beswood, same exact one you were looking at.😅

My friend got a meat slicer from her job auctioning off old equipment. It was blessed by the divine because after some practice we actually got our rolls pretty solid

A deli slicer is one of the best investments. If you clean it well and take care of it you can use it for vegetables as well as meats.

I bought a semi-commercial meat slicer nearly identical to the 10" one at the end of the video. It works very well for this application. For cuts as thin as the meat in H-Mart, I freeze the meat prior to slicing and feed it slowly into the blade. The worst part is cleaning it.

You gotta go with a Hobart for that restaurant and deli quality slices
