You enjoy that week off, Caleb. You deserve it!

@5:00 it’s not only the pixel refresh rate but the brightness of HDR. I recently watched the new mission impossible in a Dolby theater and I still noticed a lot of stuttering in slow panning shots consisting of bright objects on dark backgrounds. So optimal motion smoothness for 24p = dim picture + slow response and all new TVs are the opposite.

For those that may be unaware, Sharp is also releasing 2 OLED displays: FS-1/FQ-1. 'The FS1 is based on Samsung's QD-OLED panels, while the FQ1 uses LGD's WOLED panels. The FS1 uses Sharp's Medalist S4X AI image processing engine, 11 speakers 85W sound system (ARSS+), Dolby Atmos and Google TV platform. The FQ1 offers similar specification but is based on the Medalist S4 AI image processor.'-OLED Info.

I know the Sharp Mini LED didn’t have a great showing at the shootout, but I hope you still plan on reviewing. I’d really like to hear your opinion of it.

ooo! I love this topic. I already have my main TVs for the next couple years (C1 and C2). But secondary rooms and such is my interest now....

For question 2 I would use black frame insertion. It dims the picture a bit, but it fixes films. You don’t get any soap opera effect.

I owned several Sharp LCDs from the early 2000s and they were excellent long lasting TVs. I hope they do come back to the forefront and look forward to your reviews.

👍👍 honest video, using 2013-14 Sharp Aquas 90” still looks great sitting at 8-12 foot when given good 1080p or higher video input, gaming with PS5 still good too, really enjoy the size only been to theatre once since getting it

Thanks Caleb, interesting as always, cheers from Australia (Where the TV picture always seems to be upside down?)

I'm still using a Pioneer plasma 6020 in bedroom. Love it, but it's time to part. I'm going with TCL QM8 75

I'm hanging onto my Kuro too mate, dreading the day it comes to replace it. Nothing comes close, fantastic with everything & it doesn't matter whether it's a dark or light room.

I have an LG OLED65C7P when it just came out, I have my eye on the Hisense 65 U8k, would I see a leap forward in picture quality or should I just wait until my TV goes out and my wife let's me get another OLED? I always wondered your thoughts about the Vizio OLED tv.

I've got a Sharp Aquos 52" in the den since 2008 and it still looks awesome. For what these things cost 15+ years ago, I want to get my moneys worth.
